Bittersweet Farm consists of Registered Brown Swiss and Guernseys owned by Troy and Lindsey Nevil of New Glarus, WI. The current herd consists of around 100 animals total with about 45 milking Swiss, 4 milking Guernseys, and 2 Jersey. Troy grew up in town, but he spent every chance he got to be at his grandparents' dairy farm. In high school he worked for local dairy farms, and then worked at Voegeli Farms for 7 years. He then spent 2 years at Sunshine Genetics in Whitewater, WI . Lindsey grew up on her family's registered Guernsey farm. In addition to working on the farm she also works full-time as a registered nurse at a local hospital. Lindsey currently serves on the Wisconsin Guernsey Association Board of Directors.
Troy and Lindsey began buying cattle when they were 20 and slowly have added more through the years. In September 2010 they bought 16 head of cows and bred heifers from Hilltop Acres to add to their herd, and in November 2010 Troy and Lindsey joined Lindsey's parents on their farm, Kadence Farm.
